Black Friday and Cyber Monday are not the only days to get tremendous holiday bargains. The City of Mesa will be offering an After Thanksgiving Sale beginning Tuesday, Nov. 27. The City operates surplus sales every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at the City of Mesa Warehouse, 7041 E. Adobe.
Any item not already on sale will be 10 percent off. This includes numerous appliances, furniture, televisions and tools. New items will be added for each day of the sale through Thursday, Dec. 20. Bicycle prices have already been slashed by 75 percent through Dec. 20, band instrument prices are 50 percent off and all desktop computer prices have been reduced $20.
A wide variety of merchandise is offered at the surplus sales, including tools, jewelry, televisions, computers and office furniture. The merchandise consists of surplus items from various City departments, unclaimed police evidence and asset forfeiture items. Asset forfeiture items may not be purchased by City employees or members of their immediate household. Payment can be made by cash, credit card or check/debit card with photo identification. All sales are final without warranty or guarantee of any kind and there are no refunds. There are City items also available for sale on eBay and Public Surplus.
Proceeds from the surplus sales and eBay sales benefit the City of Mesa General Fund. During the 11/12 fiscal year, those sales generated $201,482.
