Mesa Mayor Scott Smith invited to present at Tucson City Council Retreat

Mesa Mayor Scott Smith was in Tucson this week where he was invited to speak about regional leadership and economic development at the Tucson City Council Retreat. He was joined by Former Arizona Attorney General and City of Phoenix Mayor Terry Goddard; University of Arizona Department Head and Professor of Management and Organization Stephen Gilliand, who is also Executive Director of Center for Leadership Ethics and Tucson City Attorney Mike Rankin.
The presentations focused on governance, leadership, communications and ethics in city government. Discussion topics included working effectively with different levels of government, processes for citizen input, guiding decision making principals and best practices.
