Mesa, AZ – Are you 18-24 and looking for a summer job? If so, check out the AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Summer Associates Program. The City of Mesa Mayor’s Office along with Mesa Public Schools, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix and City of Phoenix Park and Recreation has joined HandsOn Greater Phoenix in providing nearly 80 summer positions.
The VISTA Summer Associates Program is a short-term service opportunity from June 3 to July 26 that focuses on leading youth in engaging service activities.
The Summer Associates selected to serve in the Mayor’s Office will run the Mayor’s Youth Summer of Service Program (MYSOS). MYSOS is a series of service projects designed to introduce high school students to the variety of service opportunities available within their community. Compensation for Summer Associates includes a $1,174.60 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a $230 end of service stipend and a $946 per month living allowance.
