Free Car Seat Safety Check Event

Mesa, AZ – A free car seat safety check will be held on Saturday, October 26, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Target parking lot on the northeast corner of Power Road and McKellips (2151 N. Power Road) in Mesa.   The City of Mesa Transportation Department, Fire and Medical Department and Police Department, and Banner Health Cardon Children’s Medical Center have joined together to offer this event. No pre-registration is necessary.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many times deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters, and seat belts. The goal of the safety check is to ensure that car and booster seats are properly installed in vehicles and that the seat is the right size for the infant or child using it.

For more information about this event, contact Ashley Barinka with the Mesa Transportation Department at (480) 644-3398.
