Mesa, AZ – Mesa officials along with the Governor’s Office, Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Maricopa County applauded Apple’s decision to come to the Grand Canyon state. An official comment from the City stated, “We are thrilled that Apple will be coming to Arizona and that they have chosen Mesa for their newest manufacturing facility.”
“This is a perfect example of the City of Mesa’s commitment to being a leader in bringing new, private investment to our State and region,” Mayor Scott Smith said, “The continued growth in the Gateway area, particularly in the technology, aerospace and education sectors, is a good indication that the City’s proactive strategy and approach to economic development is working.”
Apple's presence will create approximately 2,000 jobs in the area. They are also working with SRP to use 100 percent renewable energy, greening the grid and allowing for the utility to invest in entirely new, renewable energy projects.

Apple truly exemplifies the innovative nature of companies choosing to locate in Mesa, and I am thrilled to welcome them to the Mesa Gateway Area,” District 6 Councilmember Scott Somers said. “With companies like Apple, Bridgestone America, and Able Engineering we are well on our way to realizing our vision of creating 100,000 high-tech, high-wage jobs."
