City of Mesa to host free summer recycling workshops for kids

Mesa, AZ  - Club Blue, “Mesa’s Young Recycling Squad,” is helping Mesa kids beat the summer heat by offering fun and interactive recycling workshops during the month of July.  Participants will get to meet Mesa’s recycling mascot Charlie the Chimp, participate in various activities, build a craft project and most importantly, learn about recycling.  Kids will also have the opportunity to explore and tour a City of Mesa recycle truck.

Workshops will be taking place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 16th - 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • Thursday, July 18th - 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 20th - 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Advance registration is required and workshops will be held at the Solid Waste Management Department, 730 N. Mesa Dr.

Club Blue is sponsored by the City of Mesa Solid Waste Management Department and is open to Mesa kids ages four through ten.  Membership in this educational recycling club is free and interested participants can sign up online by visiting  Club Blue benefits include receiving a quarterly newsletter, a birthday card, invitations to attend special events and the opportunity to participate in Club Blue exclusive contests for a chance to win great prizes.
