Councilmember Dennis Kavanaugh named Vice Chair of Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors

District 3 Councilmember Dennis Kavanaugh has been named Vice Chair of the Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors. Kavanaugh has been a member of the board since January 2011. He previously served as Vice Chair from January 2011 until July of 2012.
“I am honored to once again serve as the Vice Chair for the Valley Metro Rail Board of Directors,” Councilmember Kavanaugh said. “I look forward to continuing the work my colleagues and I have done on growing the rail system here in the Valley.”

Valley Metro Rail oversees the design, construction and operation of the region’s 57-mile high-capacity transit system. The board establishes overall policies and provides general oversight of the agency and its responsibilities. Valley Metro Rail Board member agencies include Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Chandler.
