Mayor Scott Smith announces joint town hall meetings with Councilmembers

Mesa, AZ – Mayor Scott Smith has four upcoming town halls designed for a variety of audiences. First, Mayor Smith and Councilmember Dennis Kavanaugh will have an open forum discussion to provide answers to residents’ questions on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at La Casita Community Center in Dobson Ranch, 2719 S. Reyes. This town hall is designed for residents to get information straight from the source. Do you want to know more about the new Fiesta Police Station, the Southern Ave. streetscape project or the new colleges in the Fiesta District? This is a great place to ask those important questions. The town hall is free and light refreshments will be served.

Second, is the Downtown Business Roundtable Breakfast with Mayor Smith and Councilmember Chris Glover. This free breakfast is hosted by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce for Mesa businesses to have an open and interactive discussion with elected officials about what is important to their business. Third, is the Youth Pizza Town Hall with Mayor Smith and Vice Mayor Alex Finter presented by the Mayor’s Youth Committee. Eat pizza, talk with City officials and learn more about how Mesa’s government operates. This is a great opportunity for Mesa’s youth of all ages to let their local elected officials know what is important to them. The Youth Pizza Town Hall is free and parents are welcome to come along on Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Arizona Museum for Natural History Roof Top Terrace, 53 N. Macdonald.

Fourth, is a Business Roundtable Lunch with Mayor Smith hosted by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce. The free Roundtable is on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Humana, 5943 E. McKellips Rd. #106. Pre-registration is required at
