Mesa, AZ – Starting Feb. 20 through the month of April, the Red Mountain Library is asking patrons to park in the east and west lots when visiting the library.  During this time, a new canopy parking structure with solar panels will be built in the main parking lot.  Handicap parking and the drive-thru book drop will still be accessible.
The construction of solar panels is an ongoing partnership the city has developed with SolarCity and SRP.  When completed, the solar parking structure at Red Mountain Library will add to Mesa’s solar profile of generating more than 352 kilowatts (kW) of solar power at City facilities.  Currently, Mesa has solar panels installed at Fire Station 212/Superstition Police Station, the Red Mountain Multigenerational Center, Fire Station 219, Fire Station 220, Red Mountain Park Softball Field, and Fiesta District Police Station parking lots.
Red Mountain Library is located at 635 N. Power Road. For more information please (480) 644-3100.
