Mark your calendar because Santa is coming to town.  Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities is holding their annual “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the Mesa Convention Center, Building B located at 201 N. Center St.  Tickets for the event go on sale on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
“Breakfast with Santa has become a tradition for many families in the valley,” Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities, Recreation Programmer Jacquie Gallo said.  “We’ve been hosting this event since 2002 and 10 years later we’re still selling out. So, it’s important to buy your tickets early.”
There are two breakfast timeslots to sign up and meet Santa, one 8:30 a.m. and then at 10 a.m.  The breakfast cost $5 for both adults and children over the age of one.  The event includes a pancake breakfast, photo with Santa, goody bag, and holiday activities.  Raffle prizes include a Leap Pad 2, kid’s game basket and more.  Raffle tickets will cost one for $2 and three for $5, or bring in five canned food items and receive one raffle ticket.  Donated food items will go to the United Food Bank.
Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit City of Mesa Community Spirit, a charitable fund raising and volunteer organization that makes Mesa a better place to live.  These funds specifically go towards books, materials, field trips, and other items needed for local elementary schools in Mesa.  It’s just one of the many ways the city gives back to their community.
Tickets must be pre-purchased to attend the breakfast.  To purchase, go online: or visit the Building A Box Office located at 263 N. Center St. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Don’t let your kids miss out on a great family tradition!
