Mesa, AZ – The City of Mesa, in partnership with the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, will launch the Mesa Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Program on July 1. The Mesa BRE Program provides City and Mesa Chamber staff an opportunity to meet with Mesa businesses in order to build relationships, gain a better understanding of business needs throughout the community, resolve outstanding business issues and assist companies considering expansion.
“Our businesses, large and small, are critical to the economic vitality of our community,” Mayor Alex Finter said. “This is a great opportunity for us to let the business community know we are listening and we care.”
Andrew Clegg, Project Manager with the City of Mesa Office of Economic Development (OED), will spearhead the program, with OED and Mesa Chamber staff participating on visits. Companies chosen for visits will come from business lists, referrals and companies requesting visits.
“For several years the City and the Chamber have informally and separately conducted business visits,” City of Mesa Economic Development Director, William Jabjiniak said. “We recognize the synergies of uniting in this effort and are pleased to now be partnering with the Chamber in a more formal and focused endeavor.”
“The Chamber is excited to be a part of the visits to our business community,” Mesa Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Sally Harrison said. “It is critical we know what is working and what isn’t for the businesses in Mesa. We look forward to working with these businesses to improve, promote and protect what they already do.”
