Goettl makes major contribution to Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign

Mesa, AZ – Goettl Good Guys Air Conditioning has made a tremendous contribution to the Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign by presenting more than 500 cases of water to the United Food Bank. Goettl has committed to reaching its goal of donating a total of 2,000 cases by the end of August. The water will be distributed to homeless and unsheltered people during the extreme heat of the summer.  Goettl, a household name in the heating and air conditioning business in Arizona, conducts an annual water drive each year, getting donations of bottled water from trade partners, employees, and customers.

“This is an incredible gesture by Goettl and we are absolutely thrilled that they have chosen the Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign as their water drive for this year,” Vice Mayor Chris Glover said. “The generosity shown by their employees, trade partners and customers is remarkable and Mesa is proud to work with them to get water to those who need it during the hot summer months.”

Goettl Chairman Dan Burke made a presentation this morning at United Food Bank headquarters in Mesa. On July 1, Goettl made a separate donation of 75 cases of water to the campaign at United Food Bank to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Goettl brand.

“Goettl prides itself in giving back to the community and the generosity of our employees, trade partners and customers proves it,” Goettl President and CEO Kenneth D. Goodrich said.  “We were aware of the success of the Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign and know that our donation of water will go directly to the people most at risk from the extremely hot weather.”

This donation by Goettl brings the total number of bottles of water given to the Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign to approximately 219,899 bottles. This year’s goal is 375,000 bottles. United Food Bank distributes donated water to numerous nonprofit organizations in Mesa and throughout the valley including Paz De Cristo, St. Vincent de Paul, A New Leaf-East Valley Men’s Center and Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS).

“The water United Food Bank has received to date has meant that EVERY agency has had access to the water they need for the hot and thirsty customers they serve,” United Food Bank Interim President and CEO Ginny Hildebrand said. “We’ve distributed record amounts of water in the past two months, so keep those donations of bottled water coming for the remainder of the hot months, so we don’t run out of water before we run out of hot weather!”
