Former Chicago Cubs standout Bill Madlock will headline a sports card and memorabilia show to take place at Double Play at the Park, the grand opening event of Riverview Park and open house for Cubs Park on January 25. The sports card show will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and admission to the show is free.
Madlock will be signing autographs from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at a cost of $20 for any item. Madlock played 15 seasons in the Major Leagues, including for the Cubs from 1974 to 1976. He won the National League batting title in both 1975 and 1976 while playing for Chicago, adding two more (1981 and 1983) while playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Madlock was a three-time All-Star, won the World Series with the Pirates in 1979 and finished his career with a .305 batting average.
Also signing autographs at the show will be Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd, who was a first round draft pick of the Cardinals in 2012 after a stellar career with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Floyd finished the 2013 season with 65 receptions for a team-leading 1,041 yards and five touchdowns. He finished his college career at Notre Dame as the school’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches. Floyd will sign from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and autographs will be $40 for any item, except for jerseys and full size helmets, which will be $50.
Double Play at the Park will include both self-guided and trolley tours of Cubs Park, the surrounding training complex and Riverview Park. Tailgating opportunities are also available from noon to 6 p.m. Tailgating admission is $10 per vehicle (cash only) with all proceeds benefitting the Mesa HoHoKams, a volunteer organization which raises funds for local youth sports organizations.

Throughout the event enjoy food, live music, inflatables, zip line, tethered hot air balloon rides, baseball themed activities and more. Arizona Game and Fish also will host free fishing.  The whole celebration will end with a special grand opening program at 5:45 p.m. at the lake.
