  • The Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign to provide water to the homeless and unsheltered during the summer months reached its goal. The campaign from June 2 through Sept. 12 collected a record 392,044 bottles of water, surpassing the goal of 375,000. The water donations were collected by Mesa Fire and Medical Department, United Food Bank, Paz de Cristo, A New Leaf and several business partners.
  • Volunteers are still needed and service projects remain available for Make a Difference Day in Mesa Saturday, Oct. 25. Projects include yard cleanups, house paintings, alley cleanup, graffiti reporting, painting of curb numbers and distribution of neighborhood resource bags. For more, visit www.mesanow.org
  • Volunteers organizing service activities in Mesa for Make a Difference Day Sat., Oct. 25 are encouraged to apply to the event's grant program. Each grant involves a store gift card for up to $100 to purchase materials and supplies for a specific project or up to 2 free landfill passes. The deadline to apply is Thurs., Oct. 16 at 4pm.
