  • The City of Mesa just announced that escrow has officially closed for the purchase of the property for a fire station replacement site in west Mesa. Funding for the land acquisition at the new fire station site was included in the General Obligation bond package approved by voters in November 2008.
  • Volunteers organizing service activities in Mesa for Make a Difference Day Sat., Oct. 25 are encouraged to apply to the event's grant program. Each grant involves a store gift card for up to $100 to purchase materials and supplies for a specific project or up to 2 free landfill passes. The deadline to apply is Thurs., Oct. 16 at 4pm.   • Goettl Air Conditioning has made a tremendous contribution to the Mesa Hydration Donation Campaign by presenting more than 500 cases of water to United Food Bank. Goettl's goal is to donate a total of 2,000 cases by the end of August.
